Interview with Adnan Al Maleh & Eliana Reggiori at Monday

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

AE: The idea was inspired by our 3 dogs. Having dogs as a pet is forcing them to live against their nature holding in pee and poo. Our objective is to protect them from urinary infections, meantime have an appliance that cleans automatically. During winter snowing period, we realized the difficulties for elderly and disabled friend to take their pet outdoor. As we are an architect and a project manager we design a easyuse appliance that can help them to keep their houses clean and protecting dogs of disease. Keeping in mind that a minimal design can be well integrated with many different styles of interior and the possibility to choose and customize according to the personal taste.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

AE: Studying the increasing number of dogs travelling with their owner in sailing boats, yachts, motohome and considering the importance of dog as pet terapy for elderly and disable people, the objective was to create an appliance that can be usefull during travels and indoor during winter periods. The impact on quality of life for dogs and people was a priority.
